How we make our craft blanks

All of our wooden blanks are cut out using laser cutters, this gives a high level of detail and accuracy. We use high quality mdf (medium density fibre) which has a lovely smooth finish and is ideal for painting, decoupage and embellishing. Birch plywood is used to manufacture our thicker range, these have a real quality feel to them and being made from hardwood they are tough, strong and will last for years, we lightly sand both sides ready for natural finishes like waxes and oils or paints.
The laser cutting process works by focusing a high powered laser through a series of optics onto the mdf, plywood or other material. The beam, which is very thin and controlled by a cnc controller, then vaporises the material in its path and the craft shape is born.
